NGN Paper Competition

In 2015, the NGN held its first Paper Competition to encourage students and early professionals to share their experience and knowledge with others in the industry. The competition was successful in accomplishing this, as well as providing a great experience to all involved.

 

2017 Competition

This year’s grand Prize includes travel expenses and registration costs
to the 2018 CIGRE General Session in Paris!

The NGN is excited to announce a 2017 Paper competition! After a few elimination rounds, five participants will have the opportunity to present their papers at the 2017 Grid of the Future Conference where one winner will be awarded the grand prize!

2016 Competition Results

In 2016, the NGN held its second annual Paper Competition to encourage students and early professionals to share their experience and knowledge with others in the industry. The US competition is part of the international collaboration in CIGRÉ, where each country can submit 4 entries to the 2018 Paris Session Presentation Showcase Competition.

The competition consisted of multiple phases. Participants received feedback on their submission at each phase from the five judges.

Competition Prizes

The Top Five were each awarded registration to the 2015 Grid of the Future Symposium, where each participant presented their paper.
The Grand Prize was additionally awarded registration to attend the 2017 Grid of the Future Symposium and $1000 stipend to support travel expenses.
